Postnatal Strengthening
Wellness for Women offers postnatal group exercise
classes uniquely designed to help you get back in shape after
giving birth. Our philosophy is to create an environment that
is playful, energizing, and a natural place to build community
with new moms.
Core stability, good posture and pelvic floor strength are
our main focus in these classes.
You'll learn a variety of exercises that can become part of
your daily life. We'll use different techniques including
Pilates and Physioball exercises in a modified way to help
you tone your body, improve posture and flexibility, strengthen
the core, firm thighs and buttocks, and reshape your belly.
Training the abdominal muscles after pregnancy is different
from the usual abs workout commonly known. For example, special
attention needs to be brought to the pelvic floor muscles
while working your abs. Some women experience urinary stress
incontinence after pregnancy, unexpectedly leaking small amounts
of urine when laughing, sneezing or coughing. To alleviate
these symptoms, it is essential to work the pelvic floor muscles.
Our program goes beyond doing Kegel exercises, including comprehensive
exercises developed in Europe for more effective results.
Additional benefits include improving tone and vascularization
of the pelvic floor muscles and healing of episiotomies, perineal
tears, and hemorrhoids.
Although our program does not incorporate exercises with your
newborn, you are welcome to bring your newborn to class.

Wheels
This unique 60-minute program for moms and babies is taught
by Anna O three times a week and combines the following:
-Postpartum Fitness Class (aerobic, resistance and flexibility
combo program)
-Moms's support group (meet other moms and chat before and after
the class)
-A playgroup for babies (musical instruments, age-appropriate
games, babies interaction)
-Early childhood development program (visual, language, motor
skills)
-Nutrition Counseling (five minute talk before the exercise
segment covers major nutrition issues for new moms)
Work out, meet new friends, talk about fears and concerns, bond
with the baby by singing and dancing. The atmosphere in classes
is pure fun, with about 20 mommy-baby teams laughing and clapping,
while performing a serious 55-minutes workout. Occasionally,
we have dads, grandparents or older siblings joining us. Everyone
is welcome.
